Rachael & Andy

Rachael-Andy0269_1
Rachael and Andy’s wedding was a literally a tale of two cities – countries actually. Rachael, a California girl, met Andy in his native England while on a mission trip. The two fell in love and now Andy will call California his home. So for the big day, Andy brought over his family and some close friends. It was great seeing such nice folks on their visit. The reception was held at a friend’s house north of town but the topper had to be during the ceremony at First Baptist Church of Clovis where Andy had one of the coolest first kisses ever. More pictures are after the jump and a full sideshow with more images is posted at the bottom.

Ronda & Ryan

Ronda-Ryan0236
A couple of weekends ago I photographed a wonderful wedding at the Tivy Mountain Vineyard along the Kings river toward the rolling hills and vineyards between Wonder Valley and Sanger. It’s such pretty area I’m familiar with as I’ve ridden my road bike through there a few times. But it didn’t look any better than it did when Ronda and Ryan got married there. With lots of friends and family around the help put the event on, the event had a very intimate feel about it. Even Ronda’s shoes made you think you were witnessing something special. Thanks Ronda and Ryan for allowing me to be a part of your day!

5D mkII and 7D comparison

test composite-sm
A couple of test shots comparing the 5D mkII and the 7D. Shot a glass decanter at 6400 in a dimly lit room, 125th @ f/2.8. They were both shot in RAW and converted to jpg in lightroom with no adjustments. I resized to fit the blog. Sharpness doesn’t seem to be a factor on the 7D as I’ve been hearing, but I think the 7D appears brighter and a little less flat too. I’ve noticed this on my last wedding shoot where the 7D colors really popped. The interesting thing is, the red color on the wall here is closer to reality on the 7D than the 5D mkII.

Dwain & Maren

Dwain-Maren0194_1
Dwain and Maren were married up at the Shaver Lake Catholic Church which gave me the opportunity do do some nice portraits on the lakeshore on a lovely fall afternoon. They were a great couple and had a lot of fun with the camera. Maren didn’t even mind dragging her dress through the sand (heck, she was already married so who cared?). The reception was a kick too with her brother coming out with his Bill Clinton alter ego. Thanks Dwain and Maren for the great photos and good times!
