Steph & Andrew

My first wedding of 2010 was for my friends Andrew and Stephanie who were married at the People’s Church Chapel and celebrated with pasta and chicken at Dicicco’s in Clovis. This had to be one of my more fun weddings to shoot because these two were having so much fun. They were exhausted from travelling out to California from South Dakota to be married in front of their family and friends, but you would never know it by watching them. Andrew broke out the Nerf guns as gifts for his groomsmen which took the edge off right away. And the portait session after the ceremony was such a crackup, I could barely focus. I extend my gratitude to this wonderful couple and their great family for allowing me the opportunity and the privilege to be a part of this day. It was truly an honor.

A look back…

Here is a slideshow of some of my favorite wedding and engagement images from last year. It was my first full year as a photography business owner and I want to express my great appreciation to my clients, friends, fellow photographers and of course, my family for providing me with the avenues to make this year a successful one. I’m thankful for my job at the Fresno Bee where the journalism world continues to evolve. I am hopeful that it will continue to be a part of my life. Once again thanks and onward to 2010!

Karen & Brent: Engaged

Brent-Karen0088I will be shooting Brent and Karen’s wedding in February when they tie the knot at the historic Buddhist Temple in downtown Fresno. We spent an afternoon at Brent’s family home doing some cool engagement shots as the sun began to dip over the horizon. It was a fun shoot. We even re-enacted the proposal. Looking forward to February for more!

Christine & Ryan

Had another great shoot at St. James Anglican Cathedral in Fresno – the third wedding I’ve shot there this year – for Christine and Ryan’s wedding on July 18. It was a pretty warm day as at least one photo illustrates, but when as the fun got started, everybody forgot about the weather and just had a ball. Christine chose an Indian theme for her reception which included vivid orange colors and little elephant table decorations. And of course the food was spectacular!

The slideshow has lots of images so you may need to let it fully load for a couple of minutes before playing.

Check out the jump from this post for a few of my favorite images.

Laura and Sean

joseph-1487Last weekend I helped out Steve Skibbie from Grand Design Photography on a wedding for Laura and Sean who were married at the Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church in Oakhurst. We kept looking at each other and remarking how beautiful the sky was and what perfect light we had. There was some threat of rain, which did arrive later, but for the most part, it was picture perfect photo-making.

My thanks again to Steve for thinking of me again to help out.

See the jump for more photos.
