My first wedding of 2010 was for my friends Andrew and Stephanie who were married at the People’s Church Chapel and celebrated with pasta and chicken at Dicicco’s in Clovis. This had to be one of my more fun weddings to shoot because these two were having so much fun. They were exhausted from travelling out to California from South Dakota to be married in front of their family and friends, but you would never know it by watching them. Andrew broke out the Nerf guns as gifts for his groomsmen which took the edge off right away. And the portait session after the ceremony was such a crackup, I could barely focus. I extend my gratitude to this wonderful couple and their great family for allowing me the opportunity and the privilege to be a part of this day. It was truly an honor.

Carolina and Luis are going to have a great marriage. I can tell from the one day I spent with them – their wedding day – because so many things went wrong, yet they took it all in stride and enjoyed it all anyway. The morning of the wedding, Luis was dropping off chairs and tables at the reception at the Bonnie B Ranch because the ones they ordered never arrived. He also worked to put up a lighting system so his guests could see when it got dark. While he was doing that, Carolina was putting together her own bouquet because the florist never got to it. I think she had an issue with the cake as well. Despite all that, I had a great time. The ceremony was a traditional Catholic mass in Spanish and featured many customs of the couples families. The Ranch was a terrific place for me to get some great shots. It was a beautiful backdrop and well worth the drive from Dinuba. The Mexican band was quite a treat as well. It was a nice sentiment for Carolina and Luis to choose a moonlit night upon which to marry because they say they also fell in love during a full moon.
